My apologies for this being posted late, but I read two books and I only had one finished. Also Mr. Publack didn't post my website on the CSS reads blog in time for anyone to choose it as a second book.
Pros:
To start I want to say that this book is completely different from the movie. It may have the same characters, but the story line is completely different. This is a book that everyone in grade nine should read, and would want to read. Building on this I think that this book did an amazing job at describing the animals, land, and people. As a result of this the detail from this is enough to feel like you are in the book. Books are what help your writing progress and improve. As a result this is the book to read for educational purposes as well as entertainment prepossess. Also the themes that are in this book everyone can interpret differently, especially as you grow older. The concepts that are discussed in this book are complicated, but described in a way that anyone can understand them and appreciate them. Finally, there were points in the book where I found myself screaming at the characters not to do something.
Cons:
There aren't very many things for me to pick on when it comes to this book because it was written so well, but there are some things for me to talk about. First the fact that there is no main character. Through out the book you flip from person to person and their opinion about what is happening. As a result of this there are some things that could be confusing to certain readers. Second there are some parts of the book where I found myself predicting what was going to be happening and being right. This happened several times in the book, and as a result is a problem. Some people may not care if them can guess what is going to happen, but I find this very disappointing.
